These terms apply to your use of the Pirates: Screen Time Control iOS app ("Pirates", the "app"), developed by John Jang. By using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies where these terms are silent.
Pirates is a self-control tool that helps you manage your own screen time by letting you block apps you choose and earn time back through focus sessions and daily habits. It is a productivity aid, not a medical or therapeutic product, and we make no guarantees about outcomes.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store terms.
Pirates relies on you: quests are completed on the honor system, and the app's blocking can be configured or removed by you at any time. You are responsible for how you use your device. Do not use the app in situations where restricted access to your device could be unsafe.
The app, including Captain Patches and all artwork, is owned by John Jang and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as these terms allow.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms apply until terminated. They terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them; you may terminate by deleting the app.
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and material updates will be noted in the app's release notes. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
